The Taste

This light-bodied, fresh style offers Chardonnay lovers the perfect midweek wine with textural panache. Kumeu’s West Auckland vineyards contribute 75% of the fruit for this blend, and the remainder comes from the Dartmoor Valley in Hawke’s Bay. The ripe, orchard fruit characters are typical of Hawke’s Bay while the more savory bass notes are more classically Kumeu. Partial fermentation in old barrels, full malolactic and time on lees combine to bring an extra layer of interest and tactility.

Amy –This is an incredibly well made wine and is perfect to drink now. Pure, crisp bright fruit. Fantastic.

Sam –Mandarin and passionfruit, with some toasty yeast notes. A perfect wine to enjoy on a hot day in the garden.

The Brajkovichs are nationally recognised as a founding family of the New Zealand wine industry, and the current generation are internationally recognised as producing world class Chardonnay.

Just as the Brajkovich family has grown, so too has the winery itself. Extensions and additions mark the milestones that have seen business adapt and expand over the years. Today, the winery produces around 250,000 bottles annually from 30 hectares of its own vineyards in Kumeu, and another 10 hectares from local growers.
