The Taste

The colour is pale yellow with golden reflections. The nose expresses itself on fresh and floral scents that are mixed with dried fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine is supple with a beautiful volume while retaining a certain vivacity. Freshness and smoothness blend perfectly and give this wine a good balance and a pleasant aromatic persistence. A great wine is born from a beautiful grape, from a vineyard cultivated with respect and high standards.
Baptiste et Guillaume Reverdy, Winemaker.

The Corky Verdict

Amy –Very full and round Sancerrre with lots of butter and a little bit of smoke. I particularly enjoyed the fact that this Sancerre coats the mouth and leaves you feeling like you’ve just eaten buttery toast.

Sam –Oaky, creamy goodness… This is right up there with some of the best oaked whites I’ve ever tried. A beautiful golden colour, medium dry and full bodied. The creamy quality lingers in the mouth and is a real tasting experience.

The Producer

The fruit of several generations, this family farm of 15 hectares is located in the middle of the vineyards and overlooks the pretty village of Verdigny. This unique location offers a breath-taking view of the famous Sancerre hill and its vineyards. Today, Jean-Marie Reverdy, guided by his passion, is making the Villaudiere estate prosper with his wife, Catherine, and his two sons, Guillaume and Baptiste. “Wine has been in our family’s blood for eleven generations. We remain inspired by the same values: a hereditary attachment to the Loire Valley, an instinctive passion for the terroirs, an innate respect for people and work.” Patience, perseverance and accuracy are the key words that drive the members of the Villaudiere domain. From the management of the vine to the production of the wines, each one perpetuates and develops the work started by previous generations. Placed between authenticity and modernity, this philosophy leads them every day to rigour and respect.
