It has been extremely challenging following the launch of our Essex based wine delivery business during a second lockdown yet we have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity from business owners in our local area.

Allison Gray, Chair of Maldon Business Board, reached out to us during the second lockdown to offer a helping hand in launching our new business. Allison explained that when she launched her small business Willow and Fox ( two years ago that she was facing the same challenges that we are currently facing and that she wanted to offer her help and support.

Allison kindly introduced us to Paula Spenceley, Editor of Maldon Nub News, who was enthusiastic about our business, who we are and what we stand for.

We explained that we are dedicated to offering same-day delivery of wine in Essex whilst supporting small producers in order to bring our customers unique, quality wines that you simply will not find in the supermarket.

Amy and I explained that “We can provide unique wines that you can’t find elsewhere in the UK straight to people’s doors – and with same-day delivery. We have taken the trouble to import fine wines ourselves rather than just rely on a wholesaler. That’s been a lot more expensive for us to do but we want to offer customers something that’s different.”

When asked what the future holds for the Corky Winers, Amy said “My dream is to have a shop with a bar area, where we could serve people and I could talk about the different cheeses – but of course I know that’s a big step and there’s a lot to do and learn first.”

You can find our range of rare Premier Cru Champagne that we have imported from Patrick Boivin, a very small producer, that you cannot find for sale anywhere else in the UK here: ( Our best selling wine, a stunning white Burgundy, is also currently only available from us and is absolutely exceptional (
